Origin Of Volunesia
They say that the greatest gift you can give someone is your time. And we want to ask you for this gift in service of our loving students and their mentors and teachers at Project Mentor India by KnowYourStar.
During the Mentor India program, each class is filled with engaging activities. At the end of these sessions, some goodies are given away to our eager students. We had been giving away erasers, pencils, pens, books, badges, etc, but this then we thought of something more special. We decided to create the goodies from recycled and waste materials!
When Jaideep, on his trip to Delhi, met Anshu Gupta from Goonj, and told him about this plan, Anshu told him,
Henceforth, do not spend on any materials. You can go to our Goonj outlets and pick up whatever you want!
When Jaideep conveyed this to Team KYS, we did not know how to express our gratitude! Being able to use the materials from Goonj (which is India’s most valued NGO in the rural space, and has touched so many lives through its various initiatives, and transformed material and labour into new forms of currency) has added so much value and meaning to what we are trying to do!
On that note, Team KYS is proud to announce our new initiative – Volunesia!
Everybody is invited to unleash their creativity and create personalised handmade goodies that will be given away to students and mentors as something they can use and cherish! From badges, bookmarks, personalised notebooks, posters, pencil stands, and postcards, you can create a wide range of goodies. We have no guidelines and you will have full creative freedom!
If this sounds fun, apply here, so we have a headcount of how many people will be there, so we can have enough material ready for everyone. 🙂
