Thursday Email – Volunteer Alert! Mentor India is back and we need more hands – visible and invisible.

We have been updating you with our preps for Mentor India, and school time is finally here! Yes, we’re back in action. This year, we have broadened our scope of work at Mentor India. We plan to engage with the students for their entire academic year, while transforming the school culture to something students look forward to every morning!

In this context, we are happy to announce that we have adopted Brindavan Tent School in Vignan Nagar, Bangalore. This school, in spite of being in the heart of the city, was found to be very neglected. This is a 1-room school with about 40 students, ranging from Grade 1 to 4. To top this all off, there’s just one teacher! We’ve written more about the state of this school and what we plan to do here in our article. Do give it a read! 🙂

When we posted a photo of it on our Facebook account, it got picked up by serendipity by Bangalore Mirror! We are so grateful for this. When we went to the school this morning, the kids were thrilled to find their pictures on paper, and oh so motivated! Here’s a glimpse of it for you ->

To execute the plan we have for this lovely school, we will be needing a lot of volunteers every week. If you’re interested to be a part of this initiative in any way, please get in touch and we can figure out where and how you can plug in! 🙂
