This Children’s Day, Let’s Share The Joy (And What We’ve Learnt)
Did you know that 39% of our population consists of children? Our nation’s smallest citizens are an incredibly important part of our society. So, it’s only fitting that there is an entire day dedicated to empowering and caring for them.
The United Nations celebrates Children’s day on March 20th. We used to as well! Did you know that? You learn something new every day! After Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister passed away – we chose to honour his legacy by declaring his birthday as ‘Children’s day’. Nehru-ji famously advocated the careful nurturing of children because they are our future.
While Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru had his own lofty dreams for our country, I think we’ve probably far outstripped his imagination! When India as a sovereign nation was born 70 years ago, no one knew what to expect. And today, with a population of more than a billion, our beloved country still finds ways to surprise us!
Case in point, over the last year, we’ve come to realise that whenever we set out to teach, we end up being the ones who are taught! Between the children, we’ve watched grow in our personal lives, and the ones that we’ve helped nurture in our professional ones – we feel like we’ve had many such ‘teaching’ moments to draw upon. And we’re sure that you do too!
So, to celebrate our little ‘gurus’, we’d love for you to share your learning experiences with us. Don’t worry – there’s no complicated process involved. Just check out our Facebook page where we’ve posted a Children’s day picture. All you need to do is comment on it and share your experience or just your thoughts. If you’re not on Facebook, don’t worry, we’re not excluding you! You can just leave a comment on this article.
We can’t wait to see your responses!
