Celebrating Five Years Of Team KYS Supporting The India Inclusion Summit
If you’ve been reading our blog posts, you will have noticed that around November we start mentioning the India Inclusion Summit or IIS a lot. Though we aren’t a formal part of the IIS team, we’ve always admired and supported their journey in any way we can. We love that we get the chance to rub shoulders with so many extraordinary people, and work alongside fellow inclusivity enthusiasts.
What Is IIS?
The India Inclusion Summit is a community driven passion project that brings together leaders in various fields to discuss an important issue – how to make the world a more inclusive place.
IIS aims to provide a platform to honour the unreported heroes of society, spread awareness about the importance of inclusivity, and share success stories in the field of inclusivity.
Every year, the summit plays host to a variety of speakers and performances from people who are associated with the field. From lovely musical numbers to heartwarming speeches – there’s a lot of amazing knowledge being shared. We can’t wait for this year’s summit to experience it all over again!
What Do We Do?
One of our team members, Jaideep, is a huge part of the IIS organising team. To assist him and strengthen our connection with the cause, both Pranita and I will also be co-anchoring on Day 1 of India Inclusion Summit and hold circles with some amazing people. If you have been reading our updates, you know by now how much we love holding circles, for the energy that we get to experience and the unimaginable things that emerge from them!
However, apart from that, we are also excited to stick to what we know best – content! We have been blogging partners for IIS since 2013. We can hardly believe that it has already been 5 years!
As a part of our collaboration, we spend a lot of time interviewing the speakers, TIF (The Inclusion Fellowship) fellows, and attendees. We love being able to give a voice to stories that are often ignored by mainstream media. Plus we enjoy contributing in whatever way we can towards making India more inclusive.
So, not only do we get a front row seat to the festivities, but we also get to talk about it on social media and on our blog. It’s pretty much a dream volunteer experience!
What To Expect This Year
Once again, the summit (Nov 11,12) will feature several amazing speakers. From Nujeen Mustafa to Arun Shourie – it looks like both days will be filled with incredible talks. Haven’t signed up? It’s not too late. We might be biased, but we really do believe that everyone who can should attend.
In addition to all the wonderful leaders you will get a chance to interact with – you will also be gaining a place in one of the most supportive and interactive communities in the world. IIS celebrates humans in a very real way, and tries to bring people together – regardless of abilities, geography, and backgrounds. Sounds wonderful? It really is.
