Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: We the Change
As a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we at KnowYourStar.com joined hands with the Swachha Basavangudi team to carry out rigorous cleaning sessions at various places in Basavanagudi. We have been updating you all by posting stories about the work we have been doing, to inspire more of you to step up and help yourself by cleaning your surroundings.
Our first story put light on certain elements that exist in our society that makes it difficult for inspired Indians to take that step towards bringing a positive change in achieving a clean country. Where as the second one showcased how the helping hands of citizens started growing, sending a message out there that for every hurdle there is a silver lining.
This time, we thought of recording a short video that would document what it really takes to turn a place from hell to heaven. With this, we also wanted to thank all the people who have tirelessly and selflessly joined hands with us. Since last couple of months, with the help of these people, we have been spending every Sunday in pursuit of a clean India. We were able to transform 8 locations that needed serious makeovers. But unfortunately one out of those locations, where we incidentally toiled for over 8 hours straight with empty stomachs, has already turned into a dumping yard again! Right on top of the cleaned pavement and just in front of the beautiful wall paintings we made, lies heaps of garbage and filth.
Nevertheless, we are fighting for the success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan most Sundays with the support of BBMP and the residents, to help Bangalore shed its new tag of “Garbage City”, and regain that of being a “Garden City”. We are extremely positive that more of you will support us and help us help you keep your surroundings clean and green. This short video shows how people have come together in becoming the face of the much-needed change for India… ‘Be the Face’ for ‘We the Change’!
