Thursday Email – Celebrating Independence Day With The Students & Teachers In 6 Khekra Schools

Namaste!

We celebrated India’s 72nd Independence Day yesterday by participating in the school celebrations at 6 of 17 school locations in Khekra village of Bagpath district in Uttar Pradesh where we are working. Spending time with the Khekra community on this occasion gave us great insight into the culture of the village, and we were so happy to see decorations and celebrations everywhere.

That said, this occasion was all the more special because it was our first visit to Khekra as a full 5-member team. Apart from spending hours together brainstorming our next course of action, we were also thrilled to be working together from office. The one emotion that was felt strongly by all of us after spending a week together under one roof, was the fact that this team feels synonymous to “family”, and we are so grateful for that gift! 🙂

We are overwhelmed with love this week, and want to send a lot of that your way too! Thank you for being a part of this growing rooted family. 🙂
