Thursday Email – The New Indian Express Features KnowYourStar Journey

Namaste!

This Monday morning, our hearts were filled with so much joy when we came across the Edex section of The New Indian Express. There featured on an entire page was a story by Parvathi Benu on the journey of KnowYourStar, right from inception to our student intervention programs to school transformation of Brindavan Tent School. 🙂
Every time someone recognises our action to contribute towards every child realising their highest potential and deems it eligible for a highlight, our hearts flutter. This always serves us as a further validation and motivation that the world is with us… that YOU are with us! As a social impact organisation, these are some of the many little things that support us to thrive and we are so grateful to The New Indian Express for fuelling our journey.

We had a great conversation with our favorite author – Roopa Pai just yesterday, and while we spoke about Vedas and Upanishads, she made a point that comes strongly to mind – “All the stories from our ancient texts are just symbolism. The real essence of it lies in how we bring out its meaning in our own experience. It’s all about the individual journey, but in the context of co-existing with our community.”

Team KnowYourStar is just a symbolism for the contribution made by hundreds of visible and invisible volunteers. But at the end of the day, what is being celebrated here is the story of how individual efforts by hundreds of people can change the context of the society, even if it’s by a very tiny bit! Let’s keep this going and it won’t be too long before we move mountains together!!! 🙂
